Liquid Filter Bag Seams: Specify Each Joint Before Ordering

Specify the side seam, bottom seam and ring attachment separately when ordering liquid filter bags. A description such as “welded bag” may not tell the buyer how every joint is made. A clear construction schedule makes competing quotations easier to compare and gives receiving staff a practical reference.

When reviewing INCEFILTER liquid filter bags, request confirmation of the construction available for the selected media and ring. Do not assume that a process used for one material is available or appropriate for another.

Turn a general label into three defined joints

Location What the quotation should identify
Side seam Joining method, seam arrangement and any additional material
Bottom closure Joining method and the approved shape or drawing reference
Ring attachment How the media connects to the ring and the exact ring design

Sewing joins material using stitches; welding joins compatible material without that stitch pattern. Needle holes and the treatment of a sewn joint can matter to the liquid path. However, the joining-method label alone does not establish particle retention, chemical suitability or mechanical durability. Assess the finished bag in its intended service.

Manufacturer literature distinguishes sewn and welded constructions, but another manufacturer’s product description is not evidence of INCEFILTER specifications. Ask for a drawing or a marked photograph of the exact proposed construction.

Keep seam review separate from housing sealing

A well-made bag joint does not establish that the ring seals against your housing. The ring, sealing seat, restraint arrangement and support basket need their own compatibility review. Use the support basket fit guide for that interface.

Likewise, changing a seam cannot automatically correct a damaged seat or an installation problem. If poor filtration appeared after a replacement, the bag bypass diagnostic guide provides a separate investigation path.

Approve evidence that matches the intended purchase

For a first order, request a representative sample identified with its proposed product code and construction revision. Compare the sample with the drawing at all three joint locations. Record visible gaps, loose threads, discontinuities or inconsistent geometry for supplier review; do not invent a universal acceptable seam width or weld-strength threshold.

Ask the supplier which inspection or test evidence is available for the actual construction. Where process risk requires a trial, agree the liquid, operating conditions, outlet-quality method and acceptance rule beforehand. A visual sample review confirms visible construction, not filtration efficiency under all operating conditions.

Freeze the approved construction on the order

Include the media identity, micron-rating basis, bag dimensions, ring reference, joint schedule, quantity and approved sample or drawing revision. Require proposed changes to joining method or additional materials to be identified before supply. This avoids treating two bags with similar appearance as automatically interchangeable.

Send INCEFILTER your bag construction enquiry with housing identification, liquid conditions and photographs of the existing bag. Request confirmation of the proposed joints and any remaining validation requirements before ordering.
