A liquid filter bag and its support basket should be reviewed as an assembly. Matching the bag’s nominal size does not confirm the basket depth, ring seating or retention arrangement. When ordering replacements, identify the housing, bag and basket together before comparing prices.

Distinguish the basket from the sealing parts

The support or restrainer basket supports the bag in the intended assembly. The bag ring, housing seat and any specified hold-down components establish a separate interface that also needs checking. A basket that enters the vessel is not necessarily the correct basket for the selected bag.

Prepare a dimensioned comparison

Inspection must follow the housing manual and site isolation procedure. Trained personnel should verify safe depressurization and handle the remaining liquid appropriately before opening the vessel. Record basket deformation, damaged rims, sharp edges and deposits, with photographs showing their location.

Do not force a new bag into a distorted basket or alter the basket to make an unverified bag fit. If a basket has been repaired or modified, tell the supplier and request review against the original assembly. A photograph without a scale or reference dimension is not sufficient for manufacturing a replacement.

Approve fit without assuming performance

A controlled fit check should establish that the specified parts seat and engage as intended. It does not prove particle retention, service life or suitability at the operating pressure and temperature. Confirm those requirements separately and obtain the applicable limits for the complete assembly.
