High Flow Cartridge Quotes: Define the Flow Duty Profile
A high flow cartridge quotation needs more than a daily production volume. The supplier needs to know how quickly that volume passes through the filter, how demand changes and which equipment remains online. A flow duty profile turns these operating details into a reviewable enquiry.
For INCEFILTER high flow filter cartridges, provide the actual process requirements and request a proposal for the stated conditions. Do not assume that a headline maximum flow describes the recommended operating point for every liquid, cartridge rating or housing.
Separate daily volume from operating flow
Consider a hypothetical process handling 240 cubic metres each day. Dividing by 24 gives an average of 10 cubic metres per hour. If filtration actually runs for eight hours, the average during those operating hours is 30 cubic metres per hour. Short filling periods could demand still more.
These figures illustrate the distinction between volume and rate; they are not INCEFILTER product capacities. Send the supplier the operating schedule or measured flow record rather than allowing a daily average to stand in for the required filtration rate.
Describe the operating cases separately
| Operating case | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Normal production | Typical flow range, duration and liquid temperature |
| Peak demand | Maximum expected flow, how long it lasts and how often it occurs |
| Start-up or batch transfer | Known changes in liquid condition and pump operation |
| One train unavailable | Required production rate and number of filter trains remaining online |
| Future expansion | A separate planned duty, clearly distinguished from today’s requirement |
Distinguish a measured maximum from an estimate or a proposed design allowance. Avoid quietly adding several allowances at different stages of the enquiry: record what each margin covers so the engineer can assess it.
State which flow belongs to which equipment
Label every value as total plant flow, flow per housing or flow per cartridge. If two parallel trains normally share a process stream, describe the controls and the required duty when one train is isolated. Do not assume equal flow sharing without an engineering basis.
For example, two trains sharing 60 cubic metres per hour would each carry 30 only under the stated equal-sharing assumption. If full production must continue with one train unavailable, the remaining train must be reviewed for the full required duty. Whether that arrangement is feasible depends on the complete system, not arithmetic alone.
Add the liquid and contamination conditions
Graver Technologies’ high flow sizing guidance identifies fluid viscosity, temperature, dirt loading and desired changeout interval alongside flow rate. Its guidance illustrates why cartridge count should not be selected from flow alone. Use the quoted manufacturer’s data for the actual product; another brand’s chart does not establish INCEFILTER performance.
Supply viscosity at the relevant temperature if known, and identify whether solids loading is measured, estimated or unknown. Describe the acceptable outlet quality and maintenance window. For interpretation of water-based curves, see the viscosity and flow-curve guide.
Ask the quotation to state its assumptions
Request the proposed cartridge code, quantity, housing arrangement, evaluated operating cases and the pressure-drop basis. Ask which duty determines the selection and what additional information or trial work is required. Have the supplier distinguish estimated changeout intervals from demonstrated results.
Review the mechanical interface using the high flow compatibility checklist. A flow calculation cannot confirm seal fit or cartridge retention.
Send INCEFILTER your flow duty profile, process conditions, housing details and purchase quantity. A clearly bounded enquiry makes competing quotations easier to compare without inventing a universal flow capacity.
